I interviewed Perry from Everyday for the past year or so, Perry has traveled to a different food cart or food truck in the city. He blogs about what he finds and tells people what tastes the best and costs the least. On the show, which aired August the 25th, 2010, Perry shared his favorite street food vendors and expressed a particular fondness for schnitzel. He let me in on how tell what kind of experience you’ll get from a food cart and also explained what he knew about the lives of the struggling vendors who put themselves and their cuisines out there on the streets for us.

Also, Perry talked about the Vendy Awards which will take place on Governor’s Island on the 25th of September. It’s a cooking competition and festival honoring those who take their lives and wares to the streets. This is where you can learn more about the lives of street  vendors: Street Vendor Project
