For this Wednesday, I talked with Jade Lien, the Administrative Programs Assistant at the Newark Arts Council. We talked about the NACs upcoming Open Doors Studio Tour on Thursday, September 23 as well as Expo 33, a multi-exposition event taking place from September 23 – October 15. Both events take place in Newark, New Jersey which is surprisingly only a quick PATH ride away!

Jade and I made a whole day of our interview–she graciously let me follow her to the Invisible Dog Studio on Bergen Street in Brooklyn Heights where she picked up a sculpture for Expo 33 from artist Ian Trask.  Just an aside, the studio was a great place to see.  Sunday afternoon sun & open windows on the front side of the building.  I talked with Ian the following day about his piece for the show, etc.

A twelve (maybe fifteen) year old kid actually followed us down the street as we huffed along with the piece.  Doing your work in radio is not a physical activity lest you follow your guest to a very cool place to pick up, literally, a very cool piece.  Check it out.

Don’t be shy! We like to hear from you.
