Let me just come out and say it, Cédric Klapisch is one of my favorite directors ever. The build-up to this interview was nerve-wracking yet exciting and maybe that’s why I’ve sat on it for so long before airing it.

Klapisch has a way of making brainy movies that don’t look or feel brainy. When talking to him, it’s obvious that everything he creates is very researched and informed but it’s never hard to ingest on the screen.

With this film, My Piece of the Pie, he entered new territory. Smaller cast, more political topics… But he ended up at the Tribeca Film Festival so he must have done something right.

My Piece of the Pie will be out on DVD on August 23rd.
